of Tigers and Cupids...

Okay this is rare,

perhaps I've experienced it before in my life, but I can't seem to remember it. Possibly because one of the festivals didn't mean much to me.

anyway... 2010 marks the year of the Golden Tiger (or so I was told)

it also happens to fall on the same day as, Valentine's day. So with these two festivals colliding it's gonna make way for one awesome event. I hope!

Anyhow... I would like to take this opportunity to wish my readers:

A VERY HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

MAY THE YEAR OF THE TIGER BRINGS YOU LUCK, PROSPERITY, WEALTH, JOY AND ALL THOSE GOOD LIL THINGS IN LIFE!

REMEMBER: RULE NUMBER#32: ENJOY THE LIL THINGS! =)

AND ALSO

A VERY HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

TO COUPLES AROUND THE WORLD. (not to mention)
WOULD BE COUPLES AS WELL.

AND NOT FORGETTING

A VERY HAPPY S(ingles) A(wareness) D(ay)
TO ALL YOU SINGLES OUT THERE.

REMEMBER: YOU'RE SINGLE AND ARE ALWAYS READY TO MINGLE =)

okay...

enjoy the festivities,

Aston Villa 1 - 1 Manchester United

This was gonna be a tricky one, somehow I knew it.

The stage was set, United on their winning streak and Villa being a force to reckon with this season meet. As the Andy Gray says "the team with the most goals meets the team with the meanest defense".

The game started off well, Villa and United were knocking at each other's doors but it still remained shut. A lapse of concentration allowed Villa to get the first goal, and immediately they started to build their wall.

However United wasn't going to sit quietly and watch the game go to waste, a quick break allowed us to get our 10 and yes TENTH OWN GOAL of the season. It's as these teams want us to win something this season. Anyway from then on the game got boring, why?

Let's give a round of applause to the "BEST" referee (kayu) of the season.

Peter Walton

Take a Clear look at a Referee Kayu

Seriously, if the BPL is gonna be the best league in the world I expect better referees to manage to game. Clearly this guy was either drugged or extorted or threatened to let Villa win the game.

His first mistake was already apparent, Nani's sending off was a joke. He clearly got the ball and Petrov made a scene out of the whole thing. Being the BLIND bat that he is, Walton straight sent Nani off without carefully taking a look at the situation.

Next there was a clear foul on Rafael where Ashley Young stuck his leg out to prevent Rafael from getting up. Isn't that a clear yellow card offense? Apparently not according to Walton. What about the foul on Rooney which was a clear free kick. Nothing. The rugby tackle of Rafael towards the end of the second half was also waved away this so called "official" referee.

With already 1 man down, United still fought back and at times looked dangerous. Villa was clearly the second best team and if we had kept Nani in the game, we would be on top of the table and sharing champagnes with Everton. Oh well, till the great FA does something about it, the game will be forever scarred by silly decisions to let these people officiate the game. Take a look at the game with the famous "Henry Hand ball", the officials clearly could have seen it, but somehow they were reluctant to take action.

I think I'll just.... Fly

A couple of months ago, I was considering moving to the suburbs as I was finding it difficult to find an apartment in the city. As I was going to start staying with my sister from this year onwards, I was figuring out how to get to the city and how long it was gonna take, thus I used Google Earth.

Funny thing was that, when I typed in Melbourne and Heidelberg, Google Earth decided that I wanted to go from Melbourne, Florida, USA instead of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

So I got a really funny result.

As you can see from number 18: It states Kamehameha highway, now I may not know what does that stand for actually, but I know it came from Dragon Ball. lol.. is it somewhere that they pay tribute to Dragon Ball?? hrm.. I would like to know!

Then as we scroll down further, check out number 27. This is the one that totally cracks me up. Kayak! They expect me to Kayak over the Pacific Ocean to Japan! Wow I wonder which heavy duty Kayak I'll take? Probably I wouldn't even last about half a year on that Kayak.

Lol...

Manchester United 5 - 0 Portsmouth

Okay.... it does seem like either United were very unlucky, or it was just not Portsmouth's day.

From the start of the kickoff, it was certain that this game was to be United's.

THREE own goals?

come on... it seemed like the match made United seem like the LUCKY ones but if you clearly watched the game, I think you're mind would differ.

The first goal was inevitably Rooney's goal. A powerful header (a way he usually doesn't score till this season)

The second one was kinda like a lucky break as Nani managed to get a deflection that fooled poor David James. I thought it would be Nani's goal but sadly, once again the officials thought that he doesn't deserve the credit for the 2nd week running.

The third goal was a good solo effort by Dimitar Berbatov (to my surprise), he almost didn't manage to make the shot on the first try but luckily he found enough space to let one rip outside the box to get it past the helpless David James.

The fourth goal should have been credited to Carrick. I mean, seriously, his shot was already going in before it took that huge deflection that bounced right into the net. Although James might have saved it on the first try, the deflection once again fooled James, who looked useless in the Portsmouth net.

The fifth and final goal well, I have no argues about this being an own goal but Diouf should hav stuck his leg longer into the path of the ball. But good pressure from him led the defender to panic and thus score for us.

5 star display? Yes! it was United attacking at it's best and you gotta credit the defense as well. Johnny Evans looks solid and he saved us that one time.

Here's the highlights:

So we're back on top of the league.

A request to dear Mr. Wenger, please do your best to stop that Russian Charity Team.

Reunions

Wow time really does fly....

I remember it was back in 1998 when my uncle and aunt plus my 2 cousins came from the US. It was the first time I met them and I was pretty small at that time. And I was kinda like nursing a fractured arm.

Since then, I've never really seen them. I've tried various ways to contact them (my cousins) through facebook and friendster, but unfortunately the world is too wide.

Flash forward 12 years ahead,

and my my, we have changed alot!
from what I hear, my cousin, Chris is now an aeronautical engineer and his sister Kate is doing what I'm doing! haha wahey!

We've practically grown up really fast, and taking a look back at how I was back then. Woah the changes are unexplainable.

I guess We all do have to grow up someday,

till then,

I like this....

Was reading the Star (Friday 29 January 2010) BPL special and I came across this quote:Was reading the Star (Friday 29 January 2010) BPL special and I came across this quote:

City's supporters must feel like tweaking the old Gary Lineker quote: football is a game played by 22 men over 90minutes and at the end Manchester United win in time added on.

Haha classic!

Arsenal 1 - 3 Manchester United

This one was going to be tough!

My heart was practically pumping really fast from the moment the game kicked off!
At 0-0 anything could have happened, and Arsenal did come close a few times. Arshavin was menacing as usual. But apart from his constant menacing... Arsenal were pretty quiet this time around.

Probably it was thanks to the midfield quintuplet of Park, Scholes, Nani, Carrick and Fletcher. Although I'm not really a fan of the 4-5-1 style, but seriously Fergie has constructed a new style to United's play in recent matches.

You have Nani and Park running down the flanks constantly being backed up by the best full backs United have to offer, Evra and Rafael. Surely there's no stopping them as their link up plays are a joy to behold. Next attacking from the middle will be a problem for the opposition players as for months now, people have been praising the work rate of Fletcher and Scholes plus Carrick is now doing a decent job too. How often have you seen attacks being broken down by these 3. A deadly combination, Arsenal's kids couldn't afford to get pass.

Anyway I managed to catch the match till the 60th minute where Park scored United's 3rd of the match before I had to leave the mamak I was at. I quickly rushed home to get a quick look of what was happening thanks to ESPN Soccernet's live commentary and I found these comments funny. Take a look:

95'Game over. A throughly convincing performance from Manchester United and an emphatic victory. Arsenal's title chase is over again, barring some miraculous run of form. Rooney, Scholes, Nani and Park were excellent and United go one point behind the leaders Chelsea.
93'What has happened to Walcott? He runs on to the ball at pace and has decent space down the left but turns in a woeful cross.
91'Arshavin has had a miserable afternoon. He loses the ball and then fouled Valencia. Had the Russian taken some of the chances he had early on, or picked the right pass, this afternoon could have been very different.
83'Such a weak header from Walcott. He was ten yards from goal and unmarked but he headed it like an eight-year-old school boy in the playground who is afraid of the ball.
81'Another Arsenal goal in the next five minutes and I might wake up from this deep slumber.
77'Fabregas has given up here. Again he wastes possession when he had plenty of options. He must be gutted. I bet he'll instruct his agent to get onto the blower to Barcelona the second the game has finished.
52'We are watching the disintegration of Arsenal's title bid here. They have been ripped apart by United. Two passes put Park clean through, he has plenty of support but doesn't need them as he slots it underneath Almunia and puts the game to bed.
39'The Emirates is as deathly quiet as it was back in the Champions League semi-final last year.
Credits to ESPN soccernet for these quotes

Anyway, I shall be posting the video once it is uploaded,
